Hailing from the coastal town of East London, South Africa, Graeme has spent his life revelling in anything and everything the ocean has to offer. He is a qualified skipper and scuba diver, represents his province at surfing and has a 3-year national diploma in Maritime Studies. He began fly-fishing at the age of 12 when he cut his teeth on the trout streams that run through his grandfather’s farm, and this love of fly-fishing soon progressed to the saltwater where it continued to grow.
After guiding professionally on Alphonse Island in the Seychelles for three seasons, Graeme has been travelling, guiding and writing full time for the past 10 years, and has since travelled and fished extensively all over the world, including the USA & Alaska, Caribbean, Mexico, Cuba, Mozambique, Tanzania, Botswana, Namibia, Virgin Islands, Tristan da Cunha and the Seychelles.
A freelance photographer and journalist, he currently holds the position of Field Editor for The Complete Fly Fisherman magazine, and has contributed to African Safaris, This is Fly, Fly Fishing in Saltwaters and Zigzag surfing magazines. He has also contributed written and photographic material to websites, international fly-fishing brochures and books. He is currently working on his first personal book documenting his fly fishing travels and photography.
Graeme lives in Cape Town with his lovely wife Lia, and runs his successful fly-fishing travel company, Liquid Horizon.
