This is prime billfish area, and anglers come from around the world to target the large numbers of marlin and sailfish. Crocodile Bay has a variety of world-class boats allowing anglers to effectively target the various species.

There are not many places where one can cast at 40 – 50lb roosterfish in the morning, and be tussling sailfish and dorado in the afternoon. With such a concentration of so many species around Crocodile Bay, anglers are totally spoilt for choice!

The lodge

This 4 star lodge is situated amongst acres of tropical gardens and features 45 air-conditioned rooms (Jacuzzi suites available), a swimming pool with swim-up bar, elevated hot tub, luxury spa and conference center. Each guest room has two comfortable queen-size beds and a deck that overlooks the surrounding gardens. The well-stocked bar is open all day. Crocodile Bay also offers guests over 20 exciting eco and adventure tours to choose from.

The fishing

World-class fishing for sailfish and blue, black and striped marlin starts just outside the mouth of the Golfo Dulce, about thirty minutes from the lodge. Sailfish are caught all year round, and during the winter months it is common to raise 10 to 15 in a day. All fishing is catch and release. English-speaking captains will work with you to accommodate your preferred choice of offshore, inshore, fly- and light tackle fishing. In addition to the blue water, the Golfo Dulce (Sweet Gulf) provides exciting inshore action. Home to big roosterfish, bluefin trevally, jacks, grouper, and Cubera & Colorado Snapper, you will find plenty of different fishing spots to try in this 30-mile long saltwater gulf.
